We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to dedicate most of their effort/time to a research project investigating the role of DNA repair and nucleotide metabolism in prostate cancer disparities. The technician will also be responsible for laboratory maintenance and supporting general research activities. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Mouse handling and treatment experience Basic science techniques Translational research knowledge Problem-solving skills Reading relevant literature Performing experiments involving mouse work, cell culture, genetic silencing, cloning, gel and protein electrophoresis, immunofluorescence microscopy, and other molecular biology techniques, under the guidance of Dr. Kimiko Krieger and senior lab members Preparing solutions, media, buffers, reagents, and drug stocks Ordering supplies and maintaining mice Maintaining lab organization and equipment Ensuring safety standards compliance Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent with some science coursework Preferred Qualifications 1-2 years of laboratory research experience Experience with mice, microscopy, or molecular biology is desirable Certificate from a technical institute or internship Additional Information Position classified as Laboratory Technician, role/level ACRO40/E/02/CB, with a starting salary range of $15.40 - $23.25 hourly, based on experience. Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm, located at the School of Public Health, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
