We are also looking for candidates interested in working one-on-one with individuals in multiple settings , transitioning between home, community based activities, and day programs. This is a full-time with flexible schedules available and required, as schedules are adjusted to best support families. Travel throughout Gloucester County is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Meeting individuals’ needs and developing an effective support relationship

· Assist with transportation, ADL's, and IADLs

Providing person-centered supports that recognize the rights of each individual and encourage individuals supported to live the life they choose

· Assisting with daily personal hygiene care

· Collaborating with families and support team to provide the best opportunities

· Assisting with participation in social and recreational activities

· Maintain accurate knowledge and familiarity with all program procedures, operation manual, individual consumer characteristics, and The Arc Gloucester’s Policies and Procedures

· Ensure all medication is taken at proper time and in the quantity that is prescribed and ensure proper records are maintained regarding use of medication (only if required during respite)

· Ensure accurate records of consumers and program activities are maintained

· Maintains an accurate knowledge of geographic area to carry out all job duties

· Maintains a positive attitude and role model for all consumers

· Maintains an alert awareness while on duty to ensure safety of consumers

· Comply with the DDD Program Manual, The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures Manual and applicable state, local and federal regulations, including any COVID-19 vaccination mandates

· All staff must comply with the DDD Program Manual, The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures Manual and applicable state, local and federal regulations

· Employee must cooperate with The Arc Gloucester, Division Staff and Developmental Disability Licensing staff in any review, investigation or inspection

· Additional responsibilities as require

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED), and must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a current driver’s license with 5 points or less, and deemed acceptable to drive by The Arc Gloucester’s liability insurance company
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Knowledge or experience with supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with strong behavioral supports need
  • Successfully pass initial and ongoing State/Federal Criminal Background checks, including Fingerprinting, CARI checks, Central Registry checks and drug screens

Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the following are required, with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate a computers, phone and other relevant technology
  • Talk, hear and communicate in person, over the phone and using other technologies
  • Physical duties, including but not limited to carrying, driving, general lifting (at least 50 lbs.), assisting with transferring and lifting of individuals, pushing and pulling (resistance of at least 25 lbs.), bending, cleaning, and climbing stairs
