Part-time Custodial & Maintenance Position
Ridge and Valley Charter School seeks a part-time custodial/maintenance person to perform general maintenance and repairs, maintaining the school buildings and grounds in a safe, orderly, clean and operable condition. The position is for an immediate start date, to work on site approximately 12-16 hours per week in the afternoons/evenings. Work will take place both indoors and outdoors throughout all seasons and weather, in our buildings, gardens, and on our 17 acres of land.
Most work will be done independently, in coordination with the Infrastructure Coordinator. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performing regular maintenance checks of buildings, systems and grounds; minor repairs to facilities and equipment; mowing; weed trimming; hand-pulling weeds; hauling and spreading wood chips; repairing garden beds and fencing; replacing wooden deck boards and railings; installing shelving; light cleaning of indoor facilities; and to be the point person on deliveries and installation. A successful candidate must be able to safely and proficiently use hand and power tools, perform basic carpentry, communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisor, have the ability to identify and solve problems, possess strong attention to detail, and must be able to perform heavy physical labor including lifting, pushing, pulling, shoveling, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
