Job Description

About Rivian Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what's possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. Role Summary We are seeking an experienced product designer to join our Infotainment team at Rivian to help design digital products for Rivian vehicles, as well as the mobile app, in Navigation, Media, Vehicle Autonomy, and more. As a Vehicle Infotainment/Navigation Designer on Rivian's UI/UX team, you will focus on creating innovative, user-centric interfaces that enhance the driving experience in our all-electric vehicles. You will craft engaging, environmentally conscious interfaces that prioritize sustainability while providing rich, real-time information to users. Your work will help differentiate Rivian from traditional automakers by emphasizing a modern, connected experience that reflects our commitment to exploration and adventure. Responsibilities Work across a wide variety of design projects within the Infotainment, Navigation, and Vehicle Autonomy landscape. Work closely with our partners to define the user problems and opportunities for improving the experience and performance of our infotainment products. Collaborate with design teams within vehicle UX to create a cohesive experience in vehicle. Work closely with our UX Research team to understand user needs through user studies and testing. Iterate on possible solutions throughout the design process, from early sketches to polished final prototypes. Present work to business stakeholders and design leadership. Document final designs in detailed handoff files. Apply our design system to drive consistency across our digital ecosystem. Work with our Design Systems team to stretch and redefine our patterns when needed. Work closely with development partners throughout the build process to test in-flight work in vehicle prior to release. Qualifications 5+ years developing and launching zero-to-one software products. A compelling visual portfolio of work to demonstrate design experience. Demonstrated ability in crafting strategic design briefs to set the framing and scope of each project. Experience working closely with cross functional teams in an agile fashion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortability with context switching and being a "Jack-of-all-trades". Experience in automotive design not required. High proficiency with creative tools; Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch. No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5 year period). No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years. No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years. Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle. Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring. Pay Disclosure Salary Range Palo Alto-Based Applicants: $132,000-$165,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law). Equal Opportunity Rivian is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information or characteristics, physical or mental disability, marital/domestic partner status, age, military/veteran status, medical condition, or any other characteristic protected by law. #J-18808-Ljbffr Rivian
