The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationally seeking online Technical Writing tutoring. You’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from home. Responsibilities Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to students in Technical Writing. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Use the Live Learning Platform to conduct remote sessions (no commuting). Receive matched student opportunities aligned with your teaching style and expertise. Utilize available tools to deliver effective instruction and save prep time. Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments. What We Look For In a Tutor Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in Technical Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education. Compensation and Benefits Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects; with continued work with the same student, pay can reach up to $40/hour. Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions conducted and invoiced. Our AI-powered Tutor Copilot provides real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features to save prep time. We handle the logistics—you invoice for sessions, and we take care of payments. Additional Notes Tutor remotely using the platform; no commuting required. We connect you with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise. Please note: Varsity Tutors does not contract with tutors in: Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, or Puerto Rico.
