Shift/s Available for this Position:

G shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead and perform receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection for conformance to specifications, using inspection instruments and/or techniques.
• Ensure “First Offs” are completed on time (at the beginning of each shift) and data are in specification.
• Support production goals and time-tables; schedule Inspectors overtime if needed for Lab coverage.
• Ensure all daily quality activities are thoroughly communicated to Supervisors or Managers.
• May be required to perform tasks associated with troubleshooting product quality and performance.
• Participates on project teams to prevent or solve manufacturing or quality problems, reduce cycle times, cost increase efficiency, or any other project, as necessary.
• Ensure quality inspection areas are safe, neat, clean and organized.
• Prepares and processes inspection acceptance or rejection paperwork, maintains records, files, and related documentation as necessary. Update and file Control Documents.
• Ensure special request for inspections are completed on time.
• Schedule temporary employees for sorting and preparing sorting cost sheets.
• Ensure all inspectors are properly trained. Train or schedule training as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred. Three to five years of quality inspection and/or production experience. Hands on individual that has work in fast paced Automotive Environment.
• Ability to utilize and train on inspection equipment such as SPC, calipers, micrometers, CMM, Vision Systems and other measuring devices.
• ISO and TS16949 environment required.
• Good communication, cooperation, and organization skills.
• Ability to input data and develop reports by using MSWord and Excel.
• Requires ability to work both independently and effectively within a team environment to ensure individual and departmental objectives are accomplished.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color vision.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and measure parts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
