Tracking Operators work with data generated by MLB's Baseball Tracking System, a ball and player tracking technology that produces valuable data to MLB Clubs and content that enhances television broadcasts, stadium display and the MLB app. The ideal candidate for this part-time job is reliable and diligent.

We are accepting applications for all markets, but are actively recruiting for the following:

• Washington Nationals (Washington, DC)

Responsibilities include:

• Arrive at the ballpark 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start to setup the Trackops laptop and verify dataflow
• Continuously monitor Tracking Data throughout the baseball game
• Identify errors in the live data and make timely and accurate corrections
• Collaborate and communicate with MLB personnel to troubleshoot system issues and ensure accuracy of data
• Provide detailed post-game reporting
• Keep abreast of updates and communications from MLB between game shifts

Qualifications include:

• Demonstrable knowledge of baseball and its rules
• Professionalism: ability to focus and perform time sensitive tasks without onsite supervision
• Strong computer proficiency (Windows OS and Windows-based software) and the ability to quickly learn and operate new applications
• Regular availability to work games in-person on weekdays, nights, and weekends
• Ability to maintain proper decorum and respect in an MLB press box
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills

New Tracking Operators will undergo a correspondence and a training program before working any games solo.

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is an hourly rate of $27.50 The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
