Job Description:

Saab, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual for the position of Accounting Specialist for Payroll, to contribute as an integral part of the Corporate Accounting Team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Audit and process employee travel and living expenses
  • Review pending transactions on a bi-monthly basis
    • Send email correspondence to Mangers monthly for their direct reports
    • Send email correspondence to employees who have expense transactions to expense
  • Order Corporate Credit cards on an as needed basis
  • Conduct 1:1 training with employees on how to create expense reports
  • Handling inquiries relating to expenses
  • Retrieve American Express reporting monthly
  • Administer Compliance coding requests in ERP system on as needed basis
  • Gathering and examining timesheets
  • Running files in ERP then importing to ADP
    • New Hires
    • Maintenance
    • Hours
    • Expense Reports
  • Review and validate payroll reports prior to submission
  • Retrieve payroll reports, review
  • Complete breakdown worksheet for benefits that pull monies to fund the benefit, each payroll has their own designated bank account
  • Completing terminations within ERP and ADP
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • HS Diploma, Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in Payroll and/or in an accounting discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Solid written and oral communication skills and analytical problem solving
  • Sound and consistent business judgment, a good grasp of Company priorities and a sense of urgency
  • High level of enthusiasm, with the ability to remain flexible to meet internal and external needs
  • Oracle experience helpful, but not required
  • ADP experience helpful, but not required

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
