Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
Purpose: Accounting tutors specialize in accounting and assist students in their accounting courses taught at Piedmont Virginia Community College.

Duties and Responsibilities: Tutors assist students individually and collectively in accounting courses, including assistance with course concepts and assignments. Tutors are not responsible for instructing students or for knowing all the answers. Rather than teaching students, tutors collaborate with and model the thinking and processes (such as using course resources, working with others, asking questions, navigating the library, etc.) that can support success in their classes. A good tutor does not do the work for the student, but instead equips students to help themselves.
