I. Position Overview:

a. Veracity Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist. The AP Specialist is responsible for managing all accounts payable, accruals, general ledger account analysis, reconciliations, and assist with month-end close. Must possess a willingness to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job and business.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Entering and Coding AP Invoices.

· Facilitating payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.

· Ensuring outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.

· Reconciling accounts payable total, monthly statements, transactions, and general ledger with other applicable records.

· Ensuring employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected from all vendors for the payables clerk to prepare and submit 1099s.

· Processing all accounts payable transactions to include invoices, check requests, and expense reports.

· Maintaining monthly audit schedules for various audits performed.

· Work closely with project teams to analyze costs.

· Reconciling vendor account statements.

· Processing corporate credit card transactions, recording disbursement activity, and performing monthly reconciliations.

· Maintaining weekly check run and outgoing wire/ACH transfers.

· Performing monthly activities in support of the financial close process.

· Maintaining accurate source documents, client ledgers, and electronic files.

· Assisting with streamlining processes to improve workflow.

· Periodically assisting with accounting related special projects.

III. Requirements:

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

· Must be able pass a criminal background check.

Experience:

· 7 years of experience in Accounts Payable.

. Experience with Procas

Skills:

· Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.

· Must be proficient tin Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.

· Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.

· Excellent organizational & communications skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Work Environment:

This position is performed in a traditional office environment.
