SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable Coordinator will report to the Accounts Payable Manager and will have the responsibility to work cross-functionally with all departments within the business to analyze and reconcile all Accounts Payables activities. The role will also be a key partner with our third-party processer that handles a portion of our Accounts Payable activity. The individual will be a key player within the organization and critical component in developing additional procedures and controls to support the rapid growth of the business.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for receiving and reviewing incoming invoices, distribution to the correct department for approvals, and/or entering them into the Concur Portal in a timely and accurate manner
  • Responsible for the set up and maintenance of new and existing vendors
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with our vendors
  • Conducts research as needed on any missing invoices or billing discrepancies in relation to vendor statement reconciliations
  • Identifies, communicates and addresses all department, vendor, and store inquiries in an efficient and timely manner
  • Prioritizes and multi-tasks assignments and projects to meet deadlines
  • Seeks opportunities to improve AP Department processes and ensure efficiency with payments and internal controls
  • Supports month-end and year-end close processes, including but not limited to preparing monthly accruals to properly reflect known payables and preparing general ledger entries as necessary
  • Communicates across all areas of the business including but not limited to Culinary, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Legal and Restaurant Development.
  • Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.

Experience – 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in the restaurant industry

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities -

  • Excellent prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Detail-oriented with a desire to understand every aspect of the business and independently identify and pursue improvement opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems by gathering information, making recommendations, and ensuring effective execution
  • Proven ability to interact with business team members at all levels
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and effectively meet critical deadlines; natural curiosity for problem solving
  • Proven knowledge of desktop computers and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and automated accounting systems
  • Experience with SAP Concur is preferred
  • Experience in restaurant and/or multi-unit company is a plus
