Who are we and what are we looking for?

Moyer & Son, a leader in professional home services in Southeastern PA and global Pet and Animal feed, is looking to add a skilled Accounts Payable clerk to our Finance team to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. This critical position is a part of our Corporate Finance Team in Souderton, PA.

Responsibilities of our Accounts Payable Specialist

• Process accounts and incoming payments with a weekly check run
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data
• Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients' billing issues
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
• Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts payable status
• Processes employee reimbursement checks
• Proactively suggest process improvements
• Maintain vendor information and work with manager to file 1099s

What skills does our Accounts Payable Specialist need?

• Proven working experience as accounts payable clerk, or a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills
• Ability to understand post high school math
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office
• Customer service orientation
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• HS Diploma or GED required. BS or AA degree in Accounting or finance a plus
