Position Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the FSS Activity Coordinator are overseeing all aspects of the Take-a-Break, Friend's Connection and Parent's Night Out programs. This includes but is not limited to, developing, planning, scheduling, advertising, ordering materials, supervising event staff, and tracking attendance at program events and activities. This position ensures frequent, fun filled activities and creative events are provided throughout the year to persons who qualify for the programs. The FSS Activity Coordinator also ensures that persons receiving services in the Take-A-Break program meet eligibility requirements for the program and tracks utilization of respite units provided by the program.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, plan, schedule, advertise, order materials, supervise activity and event staff at weekly and monthly activities and events for persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Develop and pursue new and creative ideas when planning events and activities, assuring that persons experience a variety of fun, social, and educational events.
  • Complete intake process for new enrollments expediently for each program in a personalized, customer focused, and helpful way. Complete applications by phone or in-person and ensure that essential qualifying and other information is gathered from individuals, families, and other sources as needed, such as care managers.
  • Track attendance at events per program, track utilization of respite units in Take-A-Break program, and complete quarterly and other required reports accurately; especially grant related reporting.
  • Manage respite request and approval process in Take-A-Break program ensuring that units are provided equitably, utilization is accurately tracked by pay period, and the program is advertised and marketed in a way that ensures all units are used by the end of each year.
  • Complete customer satisfaction survey for each program seeking to continuously deliver activities and quality that is relevant and valuable to the persons served by each program.
  • Recruit existing EFR or other staff to support activities. Ensure Take a Break staff complete onboard process, are trained appropriately, and participate in staff performance evaluations where appropriate
  • Collaborates and coordinates with other EFR departments and outside agencies; sometimes providing shared or concurrent events that support other program or agency activities that benefit individuals and families
  • All other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Two years' experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities or similar populations
  • Demonstrated experience organizing and leading recreation type events
  • Associates or higher degree in human services, recreation, or related field preferred
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Current auto insurance; valid driver license; acceptable driving record per agency policy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Experience producing flyers and other promotional materials is a plus

  • Able to create, track, and analyze metrics measuring success of programs and complete quarterly and other grant related reports.
