Status: Part Time, Seasonal (Feb - Nov)

Pay Rate: $16.04/hour

The Administrative Assistant, Public Relations will assist the Dodgers’ Public Relations Department with various duties and tasks such as game notes preparation, stat packs, press releases, credential preparation, and other PR needs. In this role, the candidate will be required to do various tasks, while having the ability to communicate with colleagues, staffers and various media members. This position requires initiative and enthusiasm for the role. Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and versatility will be invaluable in this role.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Write a variety of different content to support communications and marketing efforts
  • Assist broadcasters, media, and visiting club public relations representatives before, during and after games
  • Assist with writing of daily game notes and team publications
  • Compile daily clips and stat packs on gamedays
  • Upload gameday information on Forge system for MLB’s online press box and distribute information to on-site media, which may include game notes, press releases and information guides
  • Assist with the team’s photo and media archives
  • Answer phone calls and respond to requests and inquiries in a knowledgeable manner
  • Assist Public Relations and other departments with special events as needed
  • Perform related duties as assigned by PR staff

Basic Requirements/Qualifications:

  • College coursework or Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism or a related field preferred
  • Prior working experience in sports PR or journalism preferred (not required)
  • Strong knowledge of baseball
  • Ability to interact professionally with media, players, and other staffers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, inDesign, Photoshop and other Adobe system
  • Spanish speaker a plus (not required)
  • Ability to work a baseball schedule, which includes all homestands and other holidays
