Responsible for assisting in effective administration of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b), 457, profit sharing, deferred compensation, and cash balance plans established by employers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Process employee payroll deferrals as well as employer contributions for customers on a weekly, bi-weekly, and/or monthly basis.
  • Serve as primary contact and gatekeeper for the Retirement Services department. Assist staff in Wealth Management areas relating to administrative duties and resolving customer questions as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining current customer files and ensuring appropriate documentation of correspondence, transactions, etc.
  • Support the Retirement Plan Participant Specialist in gathering and processing enrollment materials and forms, facilitates the scheduling of participant enrollment meetings, and creates or updates presentations for enrollment meetings.
  • Performs monthly administration reviews of internal retirement accounts.
  • Coordinates annual mailing process for retirement plans and ensures required notices meet IRS and DOL deadlines.
  • Assists the Retirement Plan Specialist and Director of Retirement Services in gathering, compiling, and reviewing year-end employee census data and requested audit materials.
  • Process distribution paperwork and verify vesting calculations and corresponding payment amounts.
  • Reconcile data on a regular and as-needed basis to ensure accuracy.
  • Participates as a member of various company committees as assigned.
  • Cross-sell retirement services, trust, farm and other bank services in a professional manner.
  • Complete required training associated with job function.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • Associates degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in banking, finance, accounting, and/or human resources preferred, but not required.
Skills:
  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail required.
  • Ability to meet time constraints and deadlines without constant supervision.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information.
  • Professionalism and courtesy in dealing with customers, plan participants, and bank employees.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe PDF and Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel and formulas.
  • Capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and projects in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to navigate numerous websites, platforms, and software technologies with ease.
