Zeiss X-Ray Microscopy (XRM) is the world leading manufacturer of high resolution X-ray imaging devices. The Advanced Development and Design (ADD) department within XRM is responsible for long term research into the technologies which underly our X-ray imaging devices, as well as novel imaging modes / trajectories and applications for our technologies. We are looking for summer interns to support our research.
This position concerns the testing of advanced reconstruction technologies prior to market launch.
The position is located at the Zeiss Innovation Center California, in Dublin, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in an X-ray microscopy research project with the support of ZEISS XRM research scientists.
- Communicate research results to the wider XRM group.
- Undergraduate or postgraduate student in physical sciences, engineering or related field.
- Experience as a user of X-ray microscopes / micro-CT.
- Experience in one or more of the following fields a plus: X-ray reconstruction, AI / Machine Learning, image processing / analysis, Computer vision, or other research fields related to X-ray microscopy.
- Ability to collate and present research results to a wide group, both in presentation and report formats.
- Self starter within the scope of the research project, seeking help and support where needed, to maximize the impact of the time at XRM.
- Experience with ZEISS X-ray microscopes a plus.
The hourly rate range for this position is $23.00-$29.00
The rate offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
