Lanai [St. Thomas] is located on the south shore of St. Thomas in beautiful Frenchman’s Bay. Originally opened in 2016 along the shore of Limetree Beach within Limetree Beach Resort, Lanai offers a one of kind location and quintessential Caribbean beachfront dining experience. Lanai offers innovative and refined seafood-forward island fare, and a lively bar program featuring Caribbean-inspired cocktails.


THE OPPORTUNITY

The ideal candidate is a practiced problem solver, maintains a calm demeanor under pressure, persists to get the job done, and enjoys working alongside a large team to improve performance and increase retention.

Lanai bartenders are the representative of the restaurant to guests. Bartenders are responsible for assembling and serving all beverages while guiding guests through the Lanai experience. Our bartenders are expected to give service that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful while upholding company standards and values in a busy, fast-paced environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and guide the guest’s complete dining and bar experience
  • Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times.
  • Have full knowledge of food and beverage menu items including the major components of a dish/drink; this may include ingredients and their source, simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients, preparation, and/or execution of correct food and beverage service.
  • Adhere to all company service standards and protocols.
  • Responsible and accountable for maintaining the department of health standards of procedure.
  • Responsible and accountable for maintaining all approved beverage recipes to the provided specifications.
  • Responsible and accountable for maintaining all provided standard operating procedures.
  • Uphold Lanai’s standards of quality when assembling alcoholic beverages for guests.
  • Responsibly serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Support team with beverage service to all dining room areas.
  • Confident and correct use of the POS system for order entry and payment processing.
  • Ensure food and beverage arrive at guests quickly and correctly. Confirm guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of bar tools and bar areas.
  • Ensure guests are charged correctly and receive proof of payment in a timely manner.
  • Communicate respectfully with coworkers at all levels.
  • Engage management for any guest issue or complaint.
  • Stock and prepare bar service-related items.
  • Adhere to grooming and dress code standards.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong beverage knowledge and a passion for the service industry.
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback.
  • Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude.
