Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin serves nearly 10,000 children annually at more than 40 Clubs in the Cloverdale, Geyserville, Healdsburg, Guerneville, Monte Rio, Windsor, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Rohnert Park, Petaluma and Marin communities in non-covid times. Each day in our Clubs, we aim to instill in kids a desire to make Healthy Choices, display Good Character & Citizenship and to have Academic Success. Summary:

Coordinators help our Members every day by preparing, setting up, and running activities in these areas: Sports, The Arts, Academic Success, Character & Leadership and Health & Life Skills!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Help us further our mission of impacting the lives of kids who needs us most!

Enhance your career goals by getting direct experience working with Youth!

Be a role model by always maintaining enthusiasm and a positive attitude with youth and within the Club community.

Convey warmth, care & proper guidance in ongoing interactions with Members.

Maintain a safe, clean environment so kids can thrive!

Schedule:

SCHOOL YEAR: Monday-Friday, 2PM-6PM

Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or higher);
  • Age 18 or older
  • Must be able to pass an Instructional Aide exam (waived if you have 48 college units or more)
  • Mandatory negative TB test.
  • Prior experience working with kids / children a plus.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with youth in a Boys & Girls Club or similar program preferred
  • Some child care experience preferred
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend for extended periods of time.

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Spanish speaking
  • Youth / Child Camp Counselor
  • CIT / Counselor in Training
  • College Students or graduates with focus in Childhood Development, Criminal Justice, Teaching
  • Teacher's Aid, Teaching Assistant, Substitute Teacher
  • Teacher

Keeping our Members safe is our top priority. We’ve implemented clear COVID-19 healthy & safety protocols, following Sonoma County Public Health Guidelines. We recommend all of our staff to be COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted.

  • All employees are expected to maintain a neat, clean appearance at all times. Tattoos, with the exception of facial and neck tattoos, are permitted, so long as they do not contain profanity, nudity, gang affiliation or promote hate in any way. Hats may not be worn inside. Accessories should be modest. Extreme, bulky ear piercings including gauges or large hoops are not permitted, as they pose a safety issue when working with active children.  Facial piercings are limited to one small stud in the nose.  Nose rings or septum piercings must be removed during work hours. In addition, employees working at partner sites are required to meet the dress code & appearance standards of those sites.

  • What locations are you interested in? Are you flexible in location? (We have multiple Camps throughout Sonoma County, including Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Windsor, Geyserville, Healdsburg, Cloverdale and Guerneville)
