JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

An Airfield Management/Dispatcher IV functions as the first-line supervisor for all dispatch personnel and assists the Chief Airfield Management in planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating airfield management policies and activities, and coordinates or oversees coordination of airfield management operations with aircrews, air traffic control, and various base agencies that provide for safe operation of aircraft in the local airfield environment and through national and international airspace.

Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:

  • Evaluate reports and administrative and statistical data files that pertain to airfield management
  • Process flight data with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DoD), or International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) facilities via telecommunications systems
  • Assist aircrews with flight planning and brief pilots on airfield hazards, taxi routes, and active runway
  • Perform airfield inspections to include runways, aprons, arresting systems, signs, and airfield lighting
  • Ensure Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) are received and processed
  • Coordinate and monitor airfield repair activities ensuring positive control of personnel working on the airfield
  • Perform airfield response for wildlife, foreign object debris, and other flight safety hazards
  • Coordinate and process prior permission required (PPR) requests
  • Operate computer terminal to record the daily events log
  • Determine and disseminate Runway Surface Conditions (RSCs) and Runway Condition Readings (RCRs) to appropriate agencies
  • Initiate secondary crash net in response to in-flight emergencies, ground accidents, or incidents
  • Establish local training requirements and provide work direction to subordinate personnel
  • Assist in the coordination and direction of snow removal operations
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a temperature-controlled, Base operations office environment. Indoor duties are performed on a typically dry, even surface, which may be carpet, tile, or concrete. Frequent use of a computer and some walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, stretching, and lifting (up to 40 pounds) are required.

Employee will be required to work duty days in excess of 8 hours, shift work, and weekend work to meet mission schedules. Travel to remote company work locations may be required.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE

An associate's or higher degree, or equivalent formal training approaching a degree, completion of specialized military or civilian vocational training, and a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience that includes 2 years serving in a unit lead capacity are required for this position.

In addition, an Airfield Management/Dispatcher IV must possess the following qualifications:

  • Detailed knowledge of all Base operations procedures, DoD, FAA, and ICAO flying instructions; aeronautical maps; and flight publications
  • Ability to interpret and communicate weather symbols and forecast information
  • Good visual acuity and the ability to discern all colors of the spectrum
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
