Analyst - Credit Risk Management Job at Sunoco
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will work on the Sunoco LP Credit Risk Management team reporting to the Senior Manager – Credit Risk Management. The Credit Risk Analyst will be involved in daily credit activities, special projects as required, and communication with counterparties and internal legal, accounting and marketing groups. The Credit Risk Analyst must communicate effectively in a cross-functional environment on matters relating to credit risk.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze commercial/consumer credit data, and analyze financial statements using credit scoring model in order to perform credit evaluations to determine appropriate credit limits
- Maintain approved credit limits in credit database and confirm that limits are correctly interfacing to commercial systems
- Determine whether collateral is necessary to reduce credit risk and negotiate collateral appropriate to the risk
- Obtain and negotiate parent company/personal guaranties and letters of credit as appropriate
- Negotiate the credit terms included in any commercial agreements
- Maintain and Monitor credit support documents to keep current, such as guaranties and letters of credit, to ensure that the credit support properly mitigates credit exposure
- Maintain and Monitor external and internal credit ratings in credit database
- Monitor counterparties in RightAngle to ensure parent companies and subsidiaries are accurately set up and linked appropriately
- Assist the Credit Risk Management team with the management of external counterparty and internal business relationships
- Provide information for miscellaneous reports on an ad hoc basis
- Perform any other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or additional equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in commercial and consumer credit management with financial statement analysis required. Energy experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity and experience with credit reporting agencies
- Experience with credit scoring and risk management systems, models, and metrics
- Strong Excel and Word skills
- Strong verbal and written skills necessary
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to details
- RightAngle experience a plus
- Ability to think proactively, multi-task, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines with a sense of urgency
