Summary of Responsibilities

Execute the day-to-day technical functions of Valve, actuator, and positioner selection and specifying. Responds to customer needs and requirements with the appropriate Genesis Systems products and services. Maintains a high-level of customer service with existing customers and leverages relationships to expand business. Work in conjunction with outside sales to enhance customer relationships by identifying customer needs, informing customers about the company's products or services, providing solutions and recommending new and better products. Coordinates with the outside sales team and other departments to ensure that customers receive the best product possible.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions while interfacing with the outside sales team.
  • Technical knowledge with electric actuators, pneumatic actuators, positioners and all accessories.
  • Provides pre-sale technical support: understands the customer's system, select products, provides product technical data, provides design support, set-up support, conduct application reviews, and provides technical product overviews and training.
  • Provides post-sale technical support: troubleshoots application issues
  • Handles all correspondence and inquiries with customers and outside sales regarding: application of product, technical information, prices, profit margin control, process conditions inquiries and preparation of quotations.
  • Supports technical presentations to customers.
  • Understands valve specifications and supporting design reviews.
  • Conducts Control Valves sizing using product specific sizing software.
  • Ability to understand various process given P&ID, control narrative or process description.
  • Component selection and component sizing in relation to user provided process application parameters is required.
  • Manage inbound workload requests via telephone, fax or email.
  • Manages large Projects with customer submittal requirements
  • Computer AUTOCAD and 3D Software Drawing ability for certain projects
  • Coordinate with shop personnel to verify they have the proper technical information needed to complete projects.
  • Must be a team player, able to problem-solve and work constructively with customers and co-workers
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or Industrial Distribution
  • 2+ years of technical experience in customer support and/or troubleshooting of industrial equipment/technology
  • 2+ years in-plant operations experience
  • 2+ years working knowledge of industrial equipment
  • A good understanding of business financials and operations acumen
  • Clear written and verbal communication style; to be a professional face of FloWorks to our customers and vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high sense of urgency with a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to produce professional reports and presentations in keeping with company policies & objectives
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, CAD, ERP
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Up to 25% travel (domestic)

Autonomy

  • Nature of work requires increasing independence. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process.

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Typically, in a comfortable environment but with intermittent exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
