Responsibilities:
The IT Department is seeking an Applications Analyst II to join their Rapid Application Development team.
Key Responsibilities
- Candidate will be an object-oriented programmer, and write web and mobile applications using VB.NET, ASP.NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, Blazor, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, APEX or Java.
- May develop and support Access-based applications.
- Write program code from internal specification documentation or outdated application code and prepare test plans, test data, run tests, observe results and correct program code to resolve any differences from specifications.
- Support existing in-house developed applications written in .NET, Cold Fusion, Java and Apex.
- May support and administer SharePoint sites and operations.
- Assist in the administration and technical responsibility of COTS applications including support for users, translating business requirements into enhancements; configuring and testing changes; maintaining and monitoring system security and permissions; and coordinating activities with other team members, the application owner, and IT.
- Identify, report, and assist in the remediation of Cyber Security threats and vulnerabilities.
- May evaluate user requirements and assist in writing specifications.
- Support multiple medium-to-large-sized existing in-house developed applications and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications.
- Lead at least one project and/or work on multiple projects.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or equivalent training and experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to lead projects that may involve other IT sections, other departments, and consultants.
- Ability to manage increasing number of tasks.
- Ability to support multiple software applications or database platforms.
- Must have experience in tools and technology used by NNSS.
- Demonstrate good analytical skills.
- Ability to solve design problems.
- Demonstrate problem solving, technical trouble shooting, testing, and debugging skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle relational databases.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of technical principles, theories, standards, practices and procedures in software development is a must.
- Ability to use multiple electronic devices including standard office machines, cellular phones, and security appliances.
- Ability to understand policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and other directives, maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, sufficient to communicate with co-workers, customers, write clear and concise reports, gather information, and collect information.
- The ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform all assigned duties safely and effectively.
- The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada, however work may be performed remotely within the contiguous United States, in accordance with Company policy, with travel to NLV and other locations as deemed necessary.
- Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday or 9/80 or 5/8 (subject to change).
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
