Additional information on the agency can be found on www.mncppc.org.The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation, is seeking an Aquatics Safety & Compliance Specialist. This position will provide advanced programmatic and supervisory support to the Aquatics Operations unit of the Aquatics and Athletic Facilities Division and will be based out of the division office in Greenbelt, Maryland.Our ideal candidate will provide high level professional expertise in training, maintenance, and operation of our aquatic facilities for our countywide Aquatics program, as well as work on specific initiatives. The successful candidate will develop and implement new programming, training, and maintenance methods, in conjunction with the Assistant Division Chief, to best serve the needs of the Division.The M-NCPPC offers a competitive salary range of $63,374 to $112,457 at the Enterprise Coordinator level with an excellent benefits package including generous leave, extensive health coverage, deferred compensation plan, employer's retirement plan, and work-life programs. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Develop consistent and streamlined maintenance and operational procedures for all facilities Lead the coordination of certified aquatic training courses and instructor programs (i.e. American Red Cross (ARC), Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), etc.) Manage the American Red Cross Authorized Provider Agreement and Centennial Grant Develop procedures for and conduct regular auditing for certification database Audit, and as necessary develop, facility operational manuals Assist with tracking facility inspections, permitting, and submissions internally and to regulating bodies Coordinate auditing and compliance of facilities to ADA, working with internal experts in Special Programs Division (SPD) and Facility Services Division (FSD) Work with facilities to develop, track, and audit maintenance issues in our Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system Work with the Maintenance Divisions to complete maintenance tasks in a timely manner and identify long term projects Provide expertise with the design and building of new aquatic venues Serve as the Department’s lead on COMAR, MDE and County pool operating compliance. Oversee a countywide aquatic facility safety audit program, to include emergency drills Coordinate countywide in-service training and safety programs, ensure consistency across facilities Coordinate countywide annual staff training programs including teaching instructor and instructor trainer level courses as needed to support the needs of the divisionCoordinate department-wide bids for aquatic supplies and programsCommunicate with various cross-functional teams within department and in other divisions to properly administer various programs and procedures Research and evaluate internal and external programming and processes, utilize the information to develop new initiatives or to suggest changes to current programsOther duties and specialty projects, as assigned PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree Three or more years of aquatic facility and program management experienceExperience coordinating American Red Cross training programs, including authorized provider agreementsExperience working in and maintaining an aquatic facility pump room Pool Operator's Certification/License Three years Lifeguarding experience American Red Cross Instructor and/or Trainer level certifications Non-traditional program coordination experience WORKING CHARACTERISTICS Team playerStrong communication skillsStrong management/supervisory skills Organized and strong ability to meet deadlines Strong attention-to-detail Ability to prioritize and multi-task Ability to be flexible and adapt to frequent change Strong presentation skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree or four years experience in business administration, physical education, recreation, or related subjects; and2. Five years progressively responsible professional experience, with at least one year as supervisor of a program or facility similar to the Enterprise facilities of the Commission; or3. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
