The Ideal Candidate Will Be Asked To…

· Prepare architectural decorative metal, structural steel, and industrial metal components 2D drawings/3D models for submittal and shop fabrication for railings, stairs, canopies, decorative custom metalwork, etc.

· Be responsible for checking over their own work for quality control before supervisor review

· Use architectural and structural drawings or customer sketches to find pertinent data for final design, make note of design discrepancies, and note where design clarity is required

· Move through revision process with customers and design team by assisting in tracking and implementing revisions, data, and correspondence for designs and submittals

· Coordinate with design team and customers via email, on site meetings, and video conferencing to deliver desired product

· Become familiar with shop design and fabrication standards and implement them into their work

· Generate material orders and cut sheets

· Generate files for waterjet, CNC, and press brake

· Ask for input from supervisors to keep job moving

· Estimate time to complete tasks and meet demanding project deadlines

· Participate in daily progress and priority meetings with supervisors

· Assist in taking field measurements on site and prepare field install drawings as required

· Complete as-built drawings at job completion

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Knowledgeable In…

· Residential and commercial drafting and design

· Architectural metal and structural steel submittal process

· Designing custom components

· Building codes and regulations

· Generating material orders

· Reviewing architectural and structural construction drawing sets for pertinent design info

· Reviewing other subcontractors design and shop drawings for coordination (millwork, elevator, structural steel)

· AutoCAD/Revit

· Microsoft Office Suite

· Procore

· Interested in learning how to program a press brake by drawing parts in 3d and unfolding for programming as we move into CNC forming

Qualifications

· 3 years minimum job experience using AutoCAD/Revit to draft in commercial and/or residential design environments preferably within the steel or metalworking industry

· Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet project deadlines

· Professional, positive, punctual, responsible, and trustworthy

· Excellent written and verbal skills

· Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)

· Proficiency in Revit (preferred)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (required)

· Proficiency in Procore (preferred)

· 3D scan data and point cloud experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $45.00 per hour
