As Needed 8202 Security Guard Job at AAM CCSF
The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco is seeking experienced security officers with high integrity and professionalism to fill as-needed positions of 8202 Security Guard at the spectacular museum facility in Civic Center.
This recruitment will result in a pool of qualified individuals to be called in when needed to provide staffing for peak periods, including special exhibitions and events, or to substitute as required for staff on sick leave or vacation. Incumbents must be available to report to work on short notice and be willing to work flexible hours which may include weekends, evenings, and/or holidays. Most shifts will be between the hours of 9:30AM and 5:15PM Tuesdays through Sundays. This position is in the City class of 8202 Museum Guard and is funded by the City & County of San Francisco.

MAJOR DUTIES
- Patrols and stands guard in galleries and other museum public spaces to maintain order, security and safety, and to protect exhibits, occupants, and building from theft, damage, accidents, and fire.
- Assists patrons with directions, general inquiries, and museum rules and regulations in a manner which is consistent with the visitor service standards of the museum.
- Performs general custodial duties in connection with the upkeep and care of galleries and exhibits; maintains a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for visitors and staff.
- Assists with emergency evacuation of the building; performs a variety of related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of verifiable experience in security work with heavy public contact.
- Possession of a current California Security Guard Registration Card issued by the California State Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
- Ability to display good judgment and respond effectively in dealing with staff and visitors regarding the safety and security of the facilities.
- Ability to: consistently present a neat, professional, and courteous appearance to visitors and staff; exercise tact and diplomacy at all times and remain calm under pressure; demonstrate flexibility, strong work ethic and the highest level of integrity and professionalism in performance of duties.
- Punctual, dependable, and flexible.
- Available to report to work on short notice, and to work variable schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
