Wiregrass Construction Company has an immediate opening for an Asphalt Foreman for our Cullman, AL location. This position reports to the Superintendent, and is responsible for managing milling, paving, and traffic control crews, as well as subcontractors and equipment. Shift is typically day shift, with weekend and/or night shift work, depending on job scheduling and weather conditions. Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

Manage operations of milling and paving crews, subcontractors, quality control support, logistics directly in a defined region.
Schedule equipment, manpower, and material needed for your project.

Achieve optimum utilization of equipment, material, and labor maximizing production and minimizing costs.

Ensure safety of crew members as well as the public who may interact with projects.

Maintain company policies.

Maintain project records, review and approve daily timecards, communicate and manage change orders, approve invoices, and attend project meetings.

Understand and conform with project drawings, specifications, and any/all special or quality requirements.

Maintain positive communications with owners, general contractors, engineers, inspectors, and anyone directly involved with the project.

Provide project status daily, to include all aspects, whether positive or negative.

Identify any challenges/roadblocks that you may see ahead and proactively address with plan of action.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications include:

Six (6) years of asphalt paving experience preferred.

Must be able to effectively motivate/manage subordinates, to foster a safe and productive work environment.

Must be able to physically meet job expectations.

Must have the ability to work in a team setting and establish collaborative peer relationship.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to multitask, and meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills
Ability to engage employees professionally and respectfully, and be team oriented
Satisfactory MVR and must meet minimum company standards on driver qualification
Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check as well as a pre-employment drug screening
