Wynmoor, a gated adult condominium community in Coconut Creek is seeking a landscape professional to support the nearly 500 acres of grounds.

This role assists the Director with administrative and managerial work in designing, coordinating and directing activities for the divisions of Landscaping, Irrigation, Nursery and Trees.

Plans, implements, and coordinates safety program to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses.

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm.

Assistant Director of Grounds Maintenance Responsibilities Include:

  • Directs and coordinates department activities through subordinate supervisors.
  • Works with the Director to set divisional and departmental goals.

Capabilities & Licenses

  • Degree in Park Management, Horticulture, Entomology, Arboriculture and/or a combination of ten (10) years experience possessing professional certifications in any of these fields
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the modern principles, technologies and practices of Grounds Maintenance Administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of landscaping, horticulture, pest control, irrigation and arboriculture management.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise Grounds Maintenance activities on a large scale and in a coordinated manner. Formal safety training related to position responsibilities is required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, subordinates, contractors, municipalities and county and state personnel.
  • Valid Florida driver's license required
  • International Society of Arboriculture - Certified Arborist (preferred)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local, state and federal worker safety laws and protocols. Be able to anticipate requirements and communicate effectively with outside agencies and local fire and police emergency response leaders.
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise employee safety training sessions.
