Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Wellness, Aquatics and Youth provides excellent programming and services in a professional, respectful and friendly manner to club members & their families at all times.

This position coordinates with the Director of Wellness, Aquatics and Youth, to design, develop, and execute progressive health, fitness, aquatics and youth programs for members. This position consistently provides information to all members inquiries and helps coordinate all requests for services. This position is responsible to interview, hire, train, develop and counsel the wellness, aquatics and youth team. Is responsible to know, observe and enforce the Clubs safety & security policies and guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate Youth Activity Program (refer to the Youth Director Job Description).
  • Manage and coordinate the Aquatics Program: Pool Communication, Swim Team Coordinator, Staff Management/Services and Swim Lesson Program.
  • Plans and communicates all department programs according to monthly and yearly calendar. Strategizes in communicating all department activities using up to date communication tools.

Job Functions include:

  • Manage and coordinate the wellness and fitness activities and promotes and markets the fitness department and its services to the membership.
  • Implements family and childrens fitness programs and teaches fitness classes and performs personal training, as needed.
  • Monitors for possible waste or theft of supplies.
  • Responsible for correct and accurate billing procedures according to club policies and timelines.
  • Receives and handles complaints regarding the entire W.A.Y. departments and communicates to the Director.
  • Informs and follows-through with the housekeeping and engineering departments about problems or deficiencies as they arise; ensures that the W.A.Y. departments and buildings are clean and functioning properly.
  • Evaluate programs and adjust to ensure goals and objectives are being met
  • Supervise summer camp activities, coordinate with KE Camps to make sure all camp activities are scheduled and administered correctly and in a safe manner.
  • Work with parents and club staff to plan and evaluate ongoing educational and entertainment programs.
  • Serve as point of contact for youth programming participants and their legal guardians/parents; also includes facilitating internal/external communications such as reports and presentations.
  • Oversees that departmental staff and implementing club policies, goals, operating procedures and standards.
  • Pursues continuous development and education for self and for subordinates to enhance image, quality and offerings of the department.
  • Completes appropriate assignments made by the Director of Wellness, Aquatics and Youth
  • Must have a visual presence in all W.A.Y. departments to interact with members/staff
  • Performs performance appraisals on staff and holds staff accountable for their areas of responsibility.
  • Is responsible for knowing CCC Employee Policies and working by the CCC Mission Statement & Absolutes.

  • CPR certified, current at all time
  • Capable of lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
  • Capable of standing and maneuvering independently and safely around work areas.
  • Ability to see and hear, or to use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that job duties can be performed successfully.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • This person must be organized, efficient and detail-oriented. She/he must be able to work independently, taking initiative and prioritizing responsibilities.
  • Must have the ability to get along well with others and demonstrate a high level of sensitivity and interest in people and children.
