The Bar Assistant Division Leader reports directly to the Division Leader, must be able to thrive in a chaotic atmosphere, has a knack for hospitality, a passion for food and beverage, and is described as a master multi-tasker.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of our Vision Statement to be carried out in the bar.
  • Train and coach bartender team on service protocols, Toast POS system and managing inventory levels.
  • Interact with customers to develop loyalty and provide excellent customer service.
  • Help bartenders take orders and serve food and drink, paying extreme attention to detail.
  • Adhere to all local liquor laws, ensure all licenses are current including health, safety, and liquor and staff is following all regulations.
  • Work with bartender team and Division Leader to develop new drinks and promotions for the bar then work with marketing team to promote.
  • Assist Division Leader in promoting bar for events and catering including set-up and take down of events.
  • Negotiate and place orders for liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies for the bar and update Toast POS system to reflect changes.
  • Organize the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory.
  • Responsible for managing inventories and helping meet sales, labor and inventory targets.
  • Handle paperwork and other administrative duties including tip balancing and deposits.
  • Address customer and employee inquiries and complaints.
  • Assist in scheduling bar employees and responsible for making sure all shifts are covered. Will be the first point of contact for bartenders for scheduling conflicts.
  • Protect the assets of the company.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bar Assistant Leader must be versed in running a bar and managing employees.
  • Great interpersonal, communication and customer-service skills.
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork.
  • Ability to train and manage staff.
  • Knowledge of liquor, bartending, and service protocols.
  • Solid organizational skills with budgets, inventories and negotiating prices with vendors.
  • Great sales skills and talent for developing promotions or new drinks.
  • High school degree or equivalent; or relevant work experience.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as lead, manage, and motivate a team.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and stay cool under pressure.
  • Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift; able to carry 50 or more pounds of supplies.
