Converse International School of Languages is a quality English school in San Diego and has been in business since 1972. We strive to provide our adult students with the ability to communicate with English effectively and confidently. The Student Services Representative is an important part of the administrative staff. They are often the first person clients see and speak with and should help to create a welcoming environment.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Perform a range of administrative tasks such as creating various reports, inventory supplies, etc.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and vendors both in person, over the phone, and via email. Attention to detail and excellent grammar is a must
  • Greet clients and visitors and assist them as necessary, answering questions and directing them to the appropriate staff member, always striving to be both helpful and welcoming
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for students
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all products, services, and procedures in order to give complete and accurate information to our current and future students
  • Answer phone in a friendly and professional manner; provide information/assistance and/or transfer phone calls or take messages as appropriate
  • Respond to direct student inquiries via email, phone, chat platform (Intercom), and social media within same day of receipt of request
  • Welcome potential student walk-ins and provide them with course and accommodation information, detail the benefits of studying, explain the application process, and give them a tour of the school
  • Enter prospective student data into the database, and use it to follow-up with online, phone, and in-person inquiries to provide further assistance and sell the programs
  • Ensure a positive first impression for students and visitors by maintaining a neat and organized front desk area and through professional appearance and conduct
  • Welcome and check in new students for orientation, provide new student information sheet and direct them to the correct classroom
  • Maintain student files with consistency and organization
  • Assist Admissions Advisor / Juniors Program Director with student enrollments
  • Engage with potential clients via social media platforms and Intercom
  • Track student attendance and generate a weekly report
  • Assist the Activities Director when needed with sign-up sheets, field student questions, occasionally process payments for activities
  • Assist students with inquiries regarding medical care, pharmacies, COVID tests, transportation, local restaurants, and attractions, etc.
  • Assist Accommodations Coordinator in search of new prospective host families and student residences

Requirements:

  • Availability from Monday through Friday* (w/ January 2023 start)
  • Prior experience with English language learners / international Students
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite
  • Minimum 1 year of clerical and customer service experience
  • International/travel experience is preferred
  • Bilingual (any language) is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.50 per hour

All students and staff members must wear a mask when inside a classroom or enclosed space. Masks are not required in common areas.
