Position Summary: The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of department function and staff, including standard operating procedures, their accountability, and unique business-impacting decisions.

Essential Duties:

· The Assistant Manager will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the company and a favorable image of the company.

· Establishing and communicating department goals and results to employees, staffing the department and delegating the workload, actively supporting employee growth, and upholding company policies.

· Profitability and sales involvement by establishing and achieving branch profitability goals and increasing the branch’s market share through regular service sales efforts.

· Submitting all required operational reports to management within the time limits set.

· Purchasing of products for resale and establishing prices of products and services.

· Enforcing and upholding the company’s credit policy.

· Managing parts inventory levels.

· Providing and promoting the service necessary to meet the department’s goals.

· Maintaining property, facilities and equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES

Positions Supervised: Manages employees including service technicians and mechanics.

Principal Interactions: Because of the requirement of high accessibility, the position is subject to continuous telephone interactions/interruptions, regularly interfaces with location Manager, sales staff, office staff, other location staff and customers. Also involved are outside contacts with vendors and other businesses.

Qualifications and Skills

QUALIFICATIONS

· Prior supervision of employees and ability to positively motivate direct reports strongly desired.

· Minimum of 2 – 5 years industry experience.

· Ability to multitask, and change directions on the fly.

· Attention to accuracy and detail oriented required.

· Must be willing and able to work in a drug free work place, pass background and Motor Vehicle (MVR) check, drug screen and submit to random drug screening.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

2-5 years of related experience working in similar industry. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid driver’s license and any required certifications/registrations as required by the position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to create and maintain standard operating procedures, write routine reports and correspondence.

· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY

· Must be able to communicate well with direct reports as well as Senior Leadership and other employees within the company.

· Comprehensive reasoning ability including the ability to deal with problems.

PUSHING/PULLING:

Dynamic Pushing and Pulling (Rarely – Occasionally) rolling tires, moving jacks, parts/equipment requiring up to 100 pounds of force

Dynamic Pulling (Rarely – Occasionally) vertical pulling with up to 156 pounds of force required to tip tires/rims to upright position
