The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for daily meetings with the site operations team members, devising construction schedules and timelines, and overseeing vendors, contractors, and subcontractors throughout the project. Candidates must have experience with renovation construction project management as well as the ability to adhere to deadlines and budget restrictions. This individual should be comfortable working independently with limited direct oversight in a multiple-location environment.

What you will be doing:

  • The activities listed below are not all-inclusive; however, they are indicative of the type of activities normally performed by the Assistant Project Manager Other duties may be assigned.
  • Work with Project Manager to Coordinate all scheduling for interior and exterior improvements
  • Assist in creating schedules for vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors.
  • Maintain a daily progress log for each project
  • Ensure that the construction project complies with all safety and building regulations
  • Confirm all activities for construction projects are performed to specifications
  • Implement cost-effective solutions and project management techniques throughout the project
  • Maintain daily log of progress, weather activity, material delivery, staging shifts, and OSHA safety requirements
  • Coordinate all construction project activities and services across all construction disciplines
  • Oversee a strict renovation schedule, ensuring milestones are reached and deadlines are met
  • Update the Project Manager on all progress and/or delays throughout the project so that the Project Manager can update Operations, Asset Management, and key stakeholders on progress throughout the project. This position will require working hand in hand with the operations teams from the start to the completion of the projects
  • Perform walkthrough and aftercare instructions with the Operations team after each phased completion
Requirements:

Your experience:

  • 1+ years of experience as a construction assistant project manager is a required
  • 1+ years of renovation experience on multifamily assets is required

  • Proficiency in MS Excel/MS Project required
  • CAD experience a plus but not a requirement
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Management skills and experience in team and project management
  • Local sub-contractor, contractor, and vendor relationships
  • Customer service-focused attitude
  • Decision-making skills
  • Solid grasp of building compliance and safety regulations
  • Ability to dependably travel as needed to the assigned project location
