Areas is seeking a team of 30+ energetic, experienced, and passionate assistant managers to operate 13 unique and flourishing restaurants located at the award-winning Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Management

  • Responsible for assigned shift, assisting in overall management.
  • Supervise and coordinate assigned shifts, conduct meetings with staff daily.
  • Assist in overall supervision of the department.
  • Make employment and termination recommendations consistent with company guidelines for approval of review by the Restaurant Manager and HR Manager, as applicable.

Staff

  • Continually strive to develop staff in all areas of managerial and professional development.
  • Observe, teach, and correct staff’s service.
  • Follow up on established training steps.
  • Check staff punctuality.

Profitability

  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with Areas USA’s policies and procedures.

Guest Service

  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Administrative

  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.

Equipment

  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.

Inventory

  • Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the restaurant's receiving policies and procedures.

Operations

  • Schedule labor as required by anticipated business actively while ensuring that all positions are staffed when as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
  • Examine food and beverage preparation.
  • Stay in the store during peak hours.

Compliance

  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.
  • Provide advice and suggestions to the Restaurant Manager as needed.
  • Assists in supervising the shift’s operations in the restaurant and liaise with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations, compliance with procedures and safety regulations and that the optimal level of quality service is achieved.

Customer Service

  • Handle any guest complain during the assigned shift.
  • Communicate with guests and receive feedback.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Position Details

  • Status - Full Time / Exempt
  • Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year
  • Schedule: Minimum 50 hours per week - 10 to 12 hours a day.

Qualifications:

  • Experience - Previous restaurant management experience
  • Leadership - Strong leadership ability

  • Communication - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Details - Strong attention to detail
  • Availability - Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs
  • Financial - P&L experience
  • Education - Minimum GED
  • Must be 18 years old
