The Assistant Store Team Leader (i.e. Assistant Store Manager) at Pet Supplies Plus - North Huntingdon (PA), you are passionate about people and their pets! Join us as we work to become the favorite pet store of the Irwin/North Huntingdon area!
The Assistant Store Team Leader’s key responsibilities include:
- Assist in leading the operational management of the store including customer service, staff scheduling, purchasing, merchandising, pricing, stocking, inventory management, animal care and other activities.
- Adhere to operational policies and procedures (animal care, safety, cleanliness, security) that ensure exceptional service is provided to our neighbors.
- Support STL in analyzing store sales results and developing plans to maximize sales, neighbor engagement and productivity
- Assist in hiring and maintaining a fully staffed team. Support recruiting, onboarding, and training team members.
- Promote team member engagement and morale by understanding individual motivation and needs, recognizing and rewarding successful performance, and helping them achieve career goals.
- Cultivate a learning culture by providing exceptional onboarding and development opportunities, along with coaching and feedback to team members.
- Coordinate in-store events and connect with community organizations to partner on events and marketing opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Possess a positive attitude, customer service orientation, and a desire to work around animals.
- 2+ years experience leading a retail team
- Microsoft Office knowledge is a must, as well as good communication skills.
- Ability to operate all equipment, including running a forklift.
- Physically able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand on your feet for long periods of time.
- Candidates must be able to work flexible schedules, have reliable transportation, pass a drug and background screening, and be 18 years of age or older.
