A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTED LIVING FOOD SERVICE ATTENDANT

As an Assisted Living Food Service Attendant, you are vital to our mission of keeping our assisted living residents well-nourished! You are responsible for taking customer orders, plating food, and serving meals. As guests arrive at the dining room, you greet them with a warm smile. You take their orders and deliver their meals. Throughout the meal, you monitor our senior living residents and make sure their needs are being met.

One fun thing you get to help with is preparing our daily desserts. Keeping the dining room and kitchen clean is a high priority. Using your natural organization skills, you love to "clean as you go". You wash dishes, sanitize workstations, and keep things clean in the kitchen. Being part of a team that makes such a difference for all our senior living residents fills your heart with joy!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ASSISTED LIVING FOOD SERVICE ATTENDANT

Minimum Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have at least two (2) years of food service experience in the hospital, restaurant, or hospitality industry.
• Must have Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler's Card or ServSafe contingent upon 30 days of hire.
• Must have some combination of formal documented training, education, or experience which demonstrates an interest in or a suitability for this type of work.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

Preferred Qualifications

• First Aid, C.P.R. preferred.

Weather: Indoors, environmentally controlled.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually mild

Description of environment: This is an industrial kitchen located in a healthcare setting.

Physical requirements: Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift. Infrequently required to sit, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
