Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated desire to work in the areas of Estate Planning and Elder Law, be a self-starter and self-motivating, and be able to manage many moving parts.


DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an attorney to work in our Estate Planning practice. You will counsel clients and their families regarding planning their estate, administering trusts, avoiding estate taxes, protecting assets from long-term care, and advise fiduciaries regarding the probate or trust administration process.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet with clients to advise regarding trust or probate administration processes
  • Prepare and draft legal documents
  • Advise on estate planning options
  • Advising fiduciaries through conflicts in the administration process
  • Counseling trustees about their duties related to the administration of trusts
  • Advise clients on avoiding unnecessary estate taxes
  • Advise clients on preserving assets from long-term care costs
  • Assist fiduciaries in administering and distributing assets from trust or probate estate
  • Work within our team to help ensure the best client experience possible
  • Assisting with probate and transfer of estate assets, including managing estates with complex assets, business succession and multigenerational planning needs; addressing foreign inheritance, tax and other cross-border issues; navigating transfer tax audits that arise out of estate settlements and post-mortem tax planning

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Washington Bar License
  • Idaho Bar License (preferred)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrate desire to work in Estate Planning and Elder Law
  • Strong attention to details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an unswerving client service ethic
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar
  • Working familiarity with Microsoft products and ability to learn additional practice management services
  • Ability to manage large volume of cases
  • Excellent interpersonal empathy
  • Willingness to be an active member of our team community
