Schedule: Part Time, premium pay with weekend agreement

Shift: 12 hour shifts Saturday Sunday

The role you’ll contribute:

Nutrition Associate 2 acts primarily with food preparation and food safety. Nutrition Associates perform a variety of duties including but not limited to: preparation of hot/cold recipes according to standardized recipes in the correct amount for patients and cafeteria; receiving and processing deliveries; cleanliness and sanitation of the department & equipment; assembling & delivering patient meals; maintaining a high level of food safety. Nutrition Associate 2 must be able to work accurately and efficiently on multiple tasks throughout the day and is capable of frequently switching tasks to focus on patient requests and immediate safety/sanitation concerns.

  • Maintains a positive relationship with clinical & non-clinical colleagues, nutrition staff, patients, and their families.
  • Maintains a neat, well-organized workstation. Demonstrates clean-as-you-go method.
  • Practices good hand hygiene and demonstrates proper procedures when using single-use gloves. Restrains hair when in food prep/service areas.
  • Understands and adheres to all food safety/sanitation standards related to the position and reports any areas of concern to a supervisor/manager.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the food temperature danger zone. Demonstrates knowledge of proper food storage including FIFO, labeling & dating of items, as well as when to discard food items for the purpose of safety.
  • Demonstrates safety guidelines in the kitchen including knowledge of emergency exits, fire extinguisher use, and emergency preparedness
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED or 4 years of relevant experience/ 2 years position related experience.
  • Preferred qualifications: ServSafe
