Job Description

The AVP Operations is responsible for the operational oversight of the Security, Safety, Emergency Management, Dietary Service, Biomedical Engineering, Ancillary / Clinical Departments and Environmental Services, including but not limited to unit management, utilization review, performance improvement, patient advocacy, oversight of integrated clinical health functions, and overall daily operations. Leadership shall be provided across the entire department, setting and achieving business targets and metrics, alignment with service line metrics, policies, and procedures, compliance with all regulatory standards, and management of staff. This role is accountable for the execution, adaptation, and outcomes of the department in alignment and achievement of strategic goals.

Additional Requirements

To qualify you must have a Bachelor s Degree Minimum; Master s Degree preferred. 5 years operational experience in hospital or community setting of support services. A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience at Director Level is required. Microsoft Office skills, word, excel, power point, and others. Expert knowledge of regulations regarding hospital operations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the all customers, internal and external. Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. Strong analytical and data management skills. Expert working knowledge of unit service provision. Strong organizational and time management skills as evidenced by capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role components. Strong ability to lead, mentor and inspire people. Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service. Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records. Demonstrates professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors. Listens and communicates effectively. Supports teamwork by cooperative problem solving through participation in meetings, projects, etc. Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve. Organizes work sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriate. Makes decisions that are timely and consistent with department, objectives, policies and procedures. Demonstrates sound judgment; accepts and benefits from constructive criticism. Participates in ongoing education as required.
