This position assists the Head Golf Professional with all activities relating to the management and execution of the clubs golf operations in a professional and friendly demeanor with high regards towards member and guest relations. Works with little supervision and accentuates teamwork and has advance knowledge of Golf in all aspects, in addition to the Club safety policies and procedures, enforces these to all employees throughout the Golf Department. Job Functions include:

  • Under the supervision of the Golf Professional, assists in the day to day successful operations of the Golf Department which includes pro-shop management, facility management, activity management and other business management activities.
  • Assists with the hiring, training, supervising, counseling, developing and evaluation of golf cart maintenance personnel, pro shop personnel and golf member services and other on-course personnel.
  • Assists with planning of golf camps, leagues, clinics, tournaments and promoting special golf events and socials.
  • Conducts both private and group lessons, provides communication for the junior and adult leagues and other programs and plays golf with members of all skill-levels to generate enthusiasm.
  • Is responsible to know all golf equipment, existing and updated technologies and know all aspects of the golf course & grounds.
  • Provides assistance with golf operations, expenditures, maintaining within budget and reports to the Golf Professional.
  • Conducts the pro-shop purchasing inventory, accurately maintaining budgets & spending costs to run a profitable pro-shop and upholds an attractive and orderly appearance of the shop.
  • Assists with the planning of professional development and training activities for subordinates.
  • Collects charges and fees for all golf related activities.
  • Assists members and communicates, interprets and enforces golf and club rules and regulations
  • Maintains handicap records..
  • When attending area professional events including local, state or national events with the approval of the golf committee will act as the Clubs Golf Professional Ambassador.
  • Maintains records relating to player and guest rounds and other statistics
  • Adheres to all federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety and employment.
  • Assists Golf Professional with scheduling staff hours to assure that members are fully served and that labor costs are maintained; periodically checks timecards for adherence to posted schedules.
  • Assists in the development of short- and long-range plans for improvements to the club facilities and courses.
  • Attends national and sectional conferences and meetings, merchandise shows, educational and professional shows to encourage development and to enhance quality and image of the club.
  • Maintains visible presence on the course during peak times of play.
  • Provides golf-related information for the clubs newsletter.
  • Provides for the collection and issuance of all prizes associated with all competitions.
  • Assists Golf Professional with managing new golf member orientation program.
  • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Golf Professional.
  • Schedules regular departmental staff meeting and holds staff accountable for attendance.
  • Completes required computer based training courses through CLI within the required time frame.
  • Uses Member Name Game and participates in contests as a learning tool.
  • Is responsible for knowing CCC Employee Policies and working by the CCC Mission Statement.

  • Job duties will require the employee to spend 98% of working hours outdoors and will require employee to frequently stand, walk, run, bounce, balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch for several hours per day.

  • Must be able to push, pull or lift using golf equipment.
