Salary Information
The salary range for this position as Assistant Director is $55,000 (minimum) up to $59,000. The salary range for this position as Associate Director is $62,489 (minimum) up to $65,000. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience and skills.

Job Summary
This position is being recruited at either the Assistant or Associate Director level. If position is filled at the Associate Director level, there will be additional responsibilities for the overall management of the Career Services office and team. The additional duties, responsibilities, and qualifications of the Associate Director are outlined separately.
The Assistant or Associate Director for Employer Relations will:
  • Work directly with the Coordinator for Internships and Employer Relations and the Director to develop and maintain contacts and regular communications with employers to expand professional full and part-time employment as well as internships/co-ops for EWU students. This position is tasked with outreach to employers through networking, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Supervise the Coordinator for Internships and Employer Relations. Together, the Employer Relations team will serve in employer relations roles for internal stakeholders (faculty and staff), manage all Career Services signature events, and build and maintain relationships with employers that lead to employment opportunities for EWU students.
  • Work closely with Career Services staff to host career fairs and networking events for students to connect with employers. The position will also work with staff to develop targeted recruiting strategies for potential internship and employment opportunities.
  • Work with the Employer Relations team to manage a database of job and internship postings and specifically track part time employment information. The position also assists the Director in developing policies according to industry best practices to insure a high-quality recruiting program.
  • Work with the Director to develop and manage a preferred employer partnership program where partnering employers receive elevated and comprehensive services from the Career Center in return for donations and service premiums paid to the office.
The incumbent must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends to staff scheduled campus events.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two years’ experience in higher education or related field
  • Ability to effectively work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask; exceptional time management skills
  • Knowledge of technology and data management tools
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing and industry analysis
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High level of cultural humility and experience working effectively with marginalized populations
  • Demonstrated interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.
Associate Director Level – Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Four years’ experience in a student-services setting in higher education
  • Demonstrated experience in providing strategic vision and direction for a team or office

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with a focus on business, higher education, human resource management, administration, or related field
  • Experience working in a career services setting
  • Experience with recruiting and fundraising/development
  • Two or more years demonstrated staff supervision experience

Employer Relationship Cultivation and Management
  • Develop and maintain relationships and regular communications with employers (local, state, and nationwide) to ensure repeat recruiting visits designed to provide internship, student employment (part time and seasonal) full time professional, and volunteer opportunities for EWU students and alumni
  • Perform outreach through referrals, research, and cold calling employers; arranging visits to employer sites and hosting organizations on campus for employer development and cultivation purposes.
