Asst to the Managing Director Job at Great Barrington Public Theater
GBPT is a new, rapidly growing theater company in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. This position will play an integral role in the general administration of the theater, marketing of shows and development activities. It is a full-time, seasonal position. It is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing their skills in arts management.
The position will begin on May 15 and run through August 8, 2021.
Responsibilities:
Administration
- Attend production and administration meetings as required.
- Assist the Managing Director in general admin duties.
- Assist with House Management duties as needed.
- Assist with any Company Management duties.
- Other duties as requested.
Marketing
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director to plan and execute a promotional plan for the season.
- Work with the Graphic Designer to create content for print ads, on-line postings and the GBPT website.
- Collaborate with the website designer to create and post-production information and updates to the GBPT website.
- Design the layout and gather information for the playbill for each production.
- Distribute posters to retail storefronts, businesses, and community notice boards.
- Photo-document rehearsals and create a photo archive of the season.
- Update and maintain the GBPT mailing list.
Development
- Assist with donation tracking and thank you letters
- Assist with donor cultivation
Housing provided in addition to weekly salary
Qualifications:
Knowledge of MS Office suite, social media sites, graphic design skills required. Also must be comfortable with in-person interaction with patrons, clients and vendors.
