Position: Athletic Director

General Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Area Director, the Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing and operating designated Athletic program within the organization. Incumbent supervises and coordinates robust athletic leagues, special events, and related volunteer management and resource development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Youth Development: Demonstrates commitment to the infinite potential of the Members we serve including through on-going advocacy of individual members & their needs.

Safety: Maintains a safe, clean environment. Ensures proper use and maintenance of Club equipment and property. Interacts thoughtfully with all parents and member and resolves conflict in a professional manner.

Program development and implementation: Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate sports leagues, programs, services, and activities. Manage diverse program offering which may include small and large group activities. Coordinate schedules for coaches and referees. Supervises and directs the coaching staff to ensure that proper practices schedules are maintained by all athletics teams.

Management & Leadership: Ensure a productive work environment in all program activities. recruit, hire, train and supervise the performance of assigned program volunteers and part time staff. Support broader organization initiatives along the Program Leadership Team.

Program Registration: Ensure all assigned programs meet registration and attendance goals through outreach & marketing activities. Follow organization policies & procedures for: Club Member registration, attendance, demographic reporting, cash handling and fee collection.

Program Marketing & Community Relations: Develop a high awareness of Sports programs & operation and excellent relationships with key partners including: school principals,?teachers, community leaders, committees, and parent organizations.

Volunteer Development and Management: Assess program need and capacity for volunteers and set goals. Lead community outreach to find volunteers. Screen (interviews, required background checks, etc.) and match volunteers to program needs and opportunities. Create and lead training and orientation for volunteers. Schedule volunteers. Ensure Volunteer recognition. Develop, monitor, track and report on Volunteer metrics and goals across the organization.

Facility & Supply Management: Ensure all Club spaces & facilities (including shared sites) are clean, safe, and attractive to Members, families, and partners. Maintain accurate inventory of all program supplies.

Resource Development & Donor Management: Conceptualize, analyze, and monitor individual cultivation and solicitation strategies for Program Sponsors. Develop and manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors to cultivate, solicit, and steward. Cultivate and encourage new gifts, renewed, increased, and major gift donations. Communicate persuasively through personal visits, written materials, appeal letters and reports.

Administration: Completes all administrative tasks in accordance with Organizational deadlines. Duties include, but not limited to bi-weekly payroll, weekly attendance tracking, volunteer tracking, etc..

Education and/or Expertise:

Four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, preferred.

A minimum of three years' work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.

Computer skills: Microsoft Office.

Applicants must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger handle or feel objects, tools or controls; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.

Requires ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, squat, pull/push, grasp up to 4-8 hours per day.

Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.

Mandatory negative TB test.

Valid State Driver's License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
