By joining the Internal Audit Branch as an Auditor I, you’ll perform beginning professional level audit work in the analysis of financial and statistical records, reports and statements, and accounting policies and procedures.
Holders of this Job Title will complete tasks such as:

Holders of this Job Title will complete tasks such as:
- Conducts preliminary research on audit assignments.
- Examines auditee documentation to ensure compliance with federal and/or state policies and regulations.
- Attends trainings and meetings to develop and improve audit skills.
- Assists the cabinet with audit and monitoring requirements for sub-recipient funds.
- Ability to understand and evaluate systems of internal controls.
- Working knowledge of governmental auditing standards.
- Improve on analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to analyze data and present results efficiently.
- Knowledge of internal controls principles.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree (which includes twenty semester hours or thirty quarter hours in accounting).
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Certification as Certified Public Accountant or as a Certified Internal Auditor will substitute for the required education.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title generally perform duties in an office setting. Frequent travel to audit sites required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
