The Backend Developer III seeks a middle ground between fluid, client-driven projects and the intricacies of very complex custom builds and maintenance projects.

The Backend Developer III focuses primarily on new custom complex builds & long standing maintenance relationships acting as a member of the Studio Labs team. You will lead other developers through code reviews as needed, at times participate in client engagements and own complex development tasks and builds.

Responsibilities of the Backend Developer III include:

• Participation in project architectural planning & estimations, including participating in client meetings as needed.
• Communicate task estimates and progress; identify potential problems and communicate with Project Managers/Producers on those issues.
• Keeping accountable to schedules, estimates, project requirements.
• Working w/ Front-End Developers for API Integration
• API Development
• Building cloud hosted applications (AWS Lambda, S3, AppSync, MySQL, CDK)
• Training and deploying predictive models using deep learning techniques
• Bug Fixes
• Query Building; DB administration
• Support the team in assessing, defining, and rolling out workflow and process improvements

What we’re looking for in a Backend Developer III:

• Strong work experience (minimum 5 years combined) across Machine Learning, API Development (REST/GraphQL), DB Administration (MySQL). Experience should include:
• Strong technical skills across Natural Language Processing (NLP), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Node, Python, MySQL.
• Building cloud hosted applications (AWS Lambda, S3, AppSync, MySQL, CDK)
• Git and CI/CD
• Docker

• Ability to seamlessly wrangle multiple, concurrent priorities and work streams
• The desire and drive to be awesome every day and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Bonus points for: Tensorflow, SpaCy, NLTK, Elasticsearch, Amazon Cognito, GCP Cloud Run
