PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DEPARTMENT: Will work closely with Life Enrichment Director under the direction of the Maintenance Director & Executive Director.

PURPOSE: Transportation of The Palms at Ponte Vedra residents to and from physicians’ offices, hospitals, dialysis, and planned activities, in a safe and courteous manner at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

• Must be 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and;
• Meet The Palms at Ponte Vedra insurability requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Primary driver for the facility, working with the Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.
• Assisting residents into bus and to appropriate destination (always assuring that staff or designated person is aware of the resident’s arrival before leaving resident).
• Be able to accommodate an ‘on-demand’ schedule.
• Excellent driving record, demonstrate professionalism and good communication skills.
• Secures passengers’ wheelchair to restraining devices to stabilize during trip.
• Other duties may be assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, lifting, and other repetitive movements associated with the transport of residents in wheelchairs.
• Lifting: 51-74 Pounds
• Carrying: 35-50 Pounds
• Pushing and Pulling: 100+ Pounds
