PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Set tables with clean linens and silverware and remove soiled dishes, glassware and silverware from the tables. Properly maintain side stations and perform other duties as assigned. Although the Busser typically works in the dining room assisting the food server, there are times when a Busser may be assigned to the bar to assist the bar server or bartender.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greeting the Guest
• Serving the Guest
• Clear and Clean Tables
• Set and Re-set Tables
• Restroom Checks
• Cleaning Walkways, Common Areas, and Wait Stations
• Opening Sidework
• Closing Sidework

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

EDUCATION:

HS Diploma preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Needs of hospitality department dictate ability to work flexible schedule to coincide with needs of various events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Constant standing / walking.

• Occasional stooping, kneeling or crawling

• Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs.

• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps.

• Constant computer/POS Register and bar equipment usage.

• Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine.

• Constant reaching, turning, and performing precision work around bar area

• Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication.

• Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word

• Occasional Distinguishing, with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors.

• Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances.
