We Are Looking For Someone Like You
The Business Analyst will work as a member of the Service team to facilitate the conceptual design, development, and implementation of technology and process improvement projects. The Business Analyst will work with business leaders and stakeholders to identify and document opportunities for improvement and innovation in the business processes and technology. They will need to build relationships with and provide a communication bridge between stakeholders and the technology team.
Your Day-to-Day at Murphy Company
  • Serve as a primary product owner (business expert) on internal software and technology development project teams to promote the ideas of the business stakeholders, ensuring what is delivered meets the original goals and objectives of the project.
  • Assist in documentation and mapping of requirements, scope definition and objectives of these projects to ensure alignment with existing business processes and technologies.
  • Perform data analytics of complex data sets and build visualizations/dashboards using Power BI, Smartsheet and Salesforce.
  • Facilitate testing and end-user support of software and process improvement initiatives.
  • Create and manage Smartsheet documents, dashboards, and automations to meet business needs.
  • Perform administrative and developer functions within Salesforce, including developing automations, process flows, and data structure improvements.
  • Support the Service Department with first-line software troubleshooting and training for business users.
  • Identify unmet internal customer needs and develop possible concepts/solutions to meet those needs.

Our ideal candidate should possess the following traits:
  • Three to five years of professional experience in product/program management, business analysis, or another technology-related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or business.
  • At least three years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite Programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience defining, executing, and delivering software or technology-related projects.
  • Experience with data analytics.
  • Experience working with Power BI, Salesforce, and Smartsheet.
  • Sharp analytical skills to creatively solve problems and overcome roadblocks.
  • Ability to combine a strong understanding of internal customer needs with an understanding of existing technology infrastructure to create a path to actionable technology-advancing solutions.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams to develop and achieve common goals and solutions.
  • Familiar with technology basics including mobile phone/tablet functions to assist in front line support for business users.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and make decisions quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing accurate work in a timely manner.
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
  • Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.
