Scope:

The Business Development Manager will report directly to the EVP of Business Development. The ideal candidate will support the Business Development team by way of outbound calls, and pre-qualifying prospects to contribute significantly to new clinic acquisitions in support of Amerivet’s rapid growth.

Excellent communication, creativity, and attention to detail are the cornerstone of this role. This candidate will be comfortable engaging with a variety of different stakeholders, have solid communication skills and be adaptable to changing priorities. Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth organization will be a huge asset in this role.

The Role Details:

Inside Sales

  • Generate leads, prospect, and identify opportunities
  • Attend various conferences/meetings (booth representation)
  • Cold calling; making 8-10 outbound calls to owners per day
  • Researching potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources to maximize cold calling
  • Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospective clients (CRM)
  • Utilizing Zoho Smartlist capabilities to track weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
  • Actively contribute expertise, ideas, and business intelligence to the team to help drive continuous improvement and business growth
  • Setting appointments for the Business Development VP

Marketing-driven activities to support Inside Sales

  • Assist in researching and pitching ideas for posts/newsletters
  • Review weekly marketing report and ensure accuracy and report on timelines
  • Keep colleagues from multiple departments in the loop ensuring company activities move along smoothly and efficiently
  • Set cadence of delivery times and manage communication for all direct mail campaigns
  • Staying current on industry trends for possible opportunities to attract new readers or create stronger and more engaging content
  • Be the champion in bridging communications between the various teams
  • Planning and organizing testimonials

Due Diligence Support Closing Deals

  • Document upload and data room management
  • Assist through the due diligence process, assisting sellers to stay on track
  • Keeping track of timelines and ensuring a smooth transaction process
  • Work closely with the regional VPs of BD to manage deal flow and closing process

Conferences/Events

  • Support the team in planning, organizing, and running regional events targeted at sellers
  • Provide targeted invite lists, follow-up, and ROI reports
  • Manage budget and spend ensuring accountability and conscious spend
  • Work with the events team to create and distribute invites and manage RSVP
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in sales and/or business development
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Post-secondary Education would be an asset
  • Intermediate level PC/software skills, including Microsoft Office or Google suite
  • Knowledge of CRM database systems is an asset
  • Adaptable, resilient and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Motivated by challenging situations
  • Able to work independently and manage workload efficiently
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and can manage competing priorities efficiently
  • Organized and can work on different projects, follow up rigorously and communicate to different levels of the organization
  • You’re comfortable being around pets
  • Available to travel occasionally to attend various events and meetings
