About this opportunity:
As a Senior BI Developer, you are experienced in all stages of BI project development work from requirements gathering, logical and physical data model design, implementation, and integration, testing to deployment and providing ongoing support. The Senior BI Developer should have a firm grasp of reporting and analytics tools and an in-depth experience with data engineering concepts and tools specifically Microsoft BI Stack and Tableau. Must work well in a team setting and have excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, and time management skills.

You are results driven, experienced data professional with broad BI technical experience utilising best in class tools and methodologies.

Working across teams, the incumbent will be required to have an end-to-end view of the reporting requirements of the business, developing solutions aimed at improving performance measures such as cost reduction, time reduction or quality improvement.

Reporting lines:
As the Senior BI Developer, you report directly to the Business Intelligence Team Lead.
You have no direct or indirect reports.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and support BI solutions - ability to work independently, in a team setup
  • Develop and maintain code to build new data models along with the technical data modelling and technical documentation for knowledge sharing.
  • Design and recommend improved operational procedures to maximize efficiencies
  • Research and develop proof of concepts to improve the data warehouse performance and processes
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems

Your key working relationships:
The Senior BI Developer will need to develop strong relationships with the following internal parties:
  • Managers, and team leads
  • Various Clinical Administrative and Operations Teams
  • Information Technology Team

In addition, the Senior BI Developer will need to develop strong external relationships with various individuals/agencies/key stakeholders.

Experience:
Skills
  • Experienced in analysing, designing, and developing Business Intelligence solutions
  • Strong experience in up-to-date Microsoft business intelligence technology stack (SSMS, SSIS, SSRS)
  • Developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards using tools like Tableau.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse methodologies (entity based, star schema / Kimball, snowflake, and data vault)
  • Strong experience in building transformation in stored procedure and database views in SQL Server
  • Experience in query optimisation by investigating query execution plans, applying right database indexes
  • Experienced in using Git / Azure DevOps as a source control
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies to build scalable data warehouse (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Key Vault)
  • Experienced in scripting code for automation or data related tasks
  • Worked on Agile methodology with an experience in writing stories, work-breakdown-structure, estimating story points and delivering in sprints.
  • Absolute focus on service to users
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner and build relationships with a broad range of people
  • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude

Qualifications and Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence design and development experience
  • Bachelor or master’s degrees in computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • Experience with data modelling and delivering data warehouses.
  • Strong technology and systems analysis background
  • Strong history in data analysis and presenting insights visually
  • Ability to write, collate and present reports.
