Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Manager - Agreement Compliance.



The Agreement Compliance Specialist will support the commercialization of New York University's technologies through the management and implementation of programs that ensure that TOV properly monitors licensee compliance and diligence. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Contracts.


Job Responsibilities:


    • Primary designee who ensures that TOV & its partners remain compliant by meeting the diligence terms outlined in the license agreement, including providing timely payments and progress reports as required.
    • Monitors progress reports and payments from Licensees to ensure compliance with the terms of the agreements.
    • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with Licensees, soliciting net sales and progress reports, and determines if the progress reports satisfy the requirements of the License Agreement in collaboration with the TOV team.
    • Must possess thorough understanding of NYU and NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s patent policies, and ensure understanding of TOV’s policies and practices in order to coordinate contract & financial data entry with the Contracts & Finance teams.
    • May draft amendments to License Agreements as required in response to changing market conditions in order to maintain productive relationships with the Licensees in conjunction with the members of the TOV licensing team.
    • Coordinates and manages the process to notify Licensees of missed diligence and financial obligations, and to gain compliance by Licensees.
    • Serves as the communication point person for all matters related to license maintenance and compliance, in coordination with the contracts and licensing teams.
    • Ensures that the TOV database (Sophia by Wellspring) is updated with appropriate information related to agreement maintenance, including agreement term entry and status monitoring functionality. Coordinates with the Contracts intake Specialist to ensure consistency in data entry.

    • Organize and set priorities among a variety of complex tasks, including a high volume of regularly occurring work and a constantly changing array of special projects and deadlines.
    • Seamlessly support the Director of Finance and Administration, as needed.
    • Performs ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned.Adhere to all relevant NYULH and NYU policies and behavioral standards

Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify you must have a Requires Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with intellectual property protection and contracts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A strong relationship builder and a good team player.
Detailed and highly organized with initiative, drive and superior time management skills.
Ability to work independently, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service.
Considerable experience organizing and processing complex information
Strong project management skills.
Excellent customer service skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


2 or more years of experience in license or contract compliance, monitoring, and/or negotiation
Ability to review and interpret various types of contracts and agreement terms


Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $76,713.00 - $103,994.80 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
